Commitment to The Environment

As an FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) member of Board we have demonstrated our commitment to implementing the FSC® Principles and Criteria in our organization. This can be further supported by the fact that over 85% of our sales in 2002 from our sister company in Singapore, MDK (Far East) Pte. Ltd., consisted of certified timber products.

Furthermore, we are a Chain-Of-Custody certified company by the Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) of California, USA. SCS is accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council A.C. and MDK holds the certificate number SCS-COC-000621.

MDK continues to pursue new solutions to respond to the ever increasing environmental problems and by listening to the demands of its customers. MDK is always in the process of identifying new certified sources and by experimenting with new species as to ensure wood and wooden products remain as a natural sustainable resource.

We firmly believe that wood is the most environmentaly friendly resource available to us and by keeping it sustainable we can continue to appreciate this wonderful material for many generations to come.
